Sally Poskett - Trainer and consultant. Sally was a founder of KCA Knowledge. Change. Action. and was instrumental in the development and growth of Five to Thrive across the last 10 years.

Sally’s presentation will be centred upon Five to Thrive, its wider context in relation to child and adult wellbeing and its part in trauma informed practice.

Sally grew up in a family where permanency was offered to foster children, this strongly influenced her professional direction and personal beliefs.

Sally's working life began in a 97 bed hostel in Brighton, she moved on to become a Probation Officer. She has worked in courts, prisons, and the community before moving back to Brighton to work within the public protection team.

In 2006 Sally left probation to work with Kate Cairns to establish and run a training organisation developing and delivering training and qualifications first for foster carers and the broader children's workforce.

Polly Wright - Children & Families policy, practice, and research consultant.

Hidden Victims of the Criminal Justice System

An estimated 312,000 children are separated from their parents by imprisonment every year in England and Wales. Polly’s presentation will shine a light on children and families’ experiences of ‘losing’ a loved one to the criminal justice system and the way in which Wiltshire’s understanding of attachment, trauma, resilience and partnership working can contribute to ensure these families’ needs are recognised and met.

Each organisation is eligible for 2 free places.

There is also the opportunity to book a stand to display information about your organisation in our voluntary sector “Market Place” area.

Refreshments and lunch provided.
